Welcome to SCGA Blog
Hi welcome to the SCGA blog we are all about the creativity of green spaces, our aim is to create community gardens in the area of Sydenham East Belfast Northern Ireland. We are a non profit group and we work for the good of our community.
We want to make green spaces for all the community to enjoy, and to use our aim is to empower our community to engage with others through gardening, and to allow the community to take a pride in the area where they live and work.
SCGA is run purely by volunteers from within the area of Sydenham, it depends on sponsorship,gifts and limited grants. We see the SCGA as a reason to help our community fight ill health, mental health issues, and loneliness, also a way to express itself through gardening
Gardening has been proven as a way to treat all kinds of illness also gives people pride in what they plant, it gets people in touch with mother earth, we see through the ages how important it is to have green spaces and how vital it is to feel achievment in your life, SCGA feels community gardens ticks all the boxes
If you feel you would like to become more involved in your area and would like to help in improving it for the good of everyone who lives in the area, or you are feeling a bit low and would like to be involved in some way, why not give it a go and volunteer with us at SCGA. Perhaps you just want to be involved in you community, we would love to meet you.
